Can A CableCARD work with ANY Cable Box with a CableCARD slot?
I bought a Motorola DCH6416 cable box from a guy on Craigslist and it came with a M-card (CableCARD) already inside it. And I was wondering if Charter cable could maybe activate the M-card OR we could rent one from them so we can get the HD QAM channels and get the DVR working. They said it wouldn't work since they can't do anything with equipment that isn't theirs. But I was wondering if it still might work since it works with Tivo. Thanks for the answers!

In theory it could work, but more than likely they will not let you do what you want, since the box you have isn't designed to be moved around like a real open cablecard device, such as a TV or TiVo DVR.
