Cheapest HDMI or DVI PC output?
Cheapest HDMI or DVI PC output? I am looking for the cheapest way to be able to playback 1080p HD video on my HDTV with my PC. Currently I have the VGA cable connected but would like to upgrade to either HDMI or DVI. My pc has a nVidia GeForce 6150se nforce 430 video card which doesn't have either currently. I've been looking around for PCI video cards but everything seems kinda expensive. Does anyone know if my video card supports ADD2 or if there is a cheaper alternative to getting HD video to my HDTV from my PC?

I assume that your TV is a 1080p TV, otherwise you simply waste money.
I assume also you have at least a 50" TV, otherwise you will barely see the difference.
DVI can't support 1080p, so your only option is a video card with HDMI out, supporting 1080p.
DVI and HDMI can do 780p and 1080p videos. The only difference is that HDMI can transfer audio as well as video.
You will definitely notice the difference in quality even on smaller screens (like 32-37").
The cheapest way is probably to get a video card with DVI and connect it to PC.
But I would buy a network media player that allows to play almost any video from your local network. It will probably cost the same as a video card with HDMI, but network media player can be place in another room, has a remote control and many other features. Besides it wouldn't matter whether your computer is powerful enough to show 1080p videos, because the player will do the decoding.
