if you have a sky card in you can use it to pick up freesat channels , if the card does not pick them all up as they have changed all cards recently you can order a freesat card through sky for about 25 pounds. you can only view channels though you cant record ,sky stop you using sky + facilities but cant stop you watching free to air channels.if you want to record you can buy a recordable freesat box and plug it in were sky goes. hope this helps.
