How Do I Get The Best Picture Quality On My HTPC?
I just got a new PC for my full HD TV . The PC has a ATI HD video card, core2duo 2.2 Ghz, 2 GB ram and is basically good. When I play 656x368 etc. videos full screen, the picture is either blurry or seems like square pictures. I tried using codecs like ffdshow and media players such as cyberlik PowerDVD 10 ( which i searched to be the best) but I still can't get the perfect quality ? Any suggestions on how to get the best picture quality ? My cheap DVD player shows the movies better.
ALSO: I also tried media player classic, have K-lite codec pack, tried to get the best settings on ffdshow (from an online tutorial) and have set my TV to the best TV settings ( from ISF's DVD)
note: I asked the same question before but couldn't get a really good answer. Please help :S

Your Core2Duo processor should be perfect with playing even 1080p movies.
Playing movies is processor intensive... and whatever video card you have - as long as it is not an ancient video card, it will be fine.
So it is not a hardware issue.
Have you tried VLC player, or KMplayer??
Get it from www.download.com
These will do it... as they are not as flexible as the klite codec pack... but this also means that your settings cannot screw things up.
I'd also suggest getting full 720p or 1080p MKV files.
It is possible that you have a bad rip.
try with a few files.
Hope this helps!
