How can I put an audio captcha on my home phone?
I'm tired of auto dialers, pre-recorded messages, unsolicited calls, & calls with nothing on the other end. I think this could be solved by having the caller hear a multi-digit number that they must enter in their keypad in order for their call to ring on my phones. Good speech recognition software could identify the number & telemarketers may eventually use it to get past the captcha. So maybe the caller could hear a short word like 'cat' then enter the numbers that correspond to each letter.

You mean like the phone company does when you ask them to block telemarketers from calling you. The caller hears a recorded voice that states the phone number doesn't except telemarketing calls. One must press a given number code for the call to go through. Wow, where has your phone company been?
