They vary like cars, depending on how you take care of them
Scenarios such as how long you leave your TV on and how often you turn it off and on makes the timeline of a TV vary dramaticly.
Well taken care of TVs can last up to 8-12 years
And also, like privious posters, it does matter the brand. forgot to add that.
and constantly leaving it on for hours and turning it off and on constantly make it drop to around 4-8.
This is just a generalization but you get the idea.
well i've had mine for about 2 years now and it is still running great! i would recommend this tv's to anyone who is interested in getting one. i'm not sure if this is true about all lcd tvs but my sony lcd tv is great!
answer: Joanne time: 2010-10-26 17:07:01It depends on the TV but the average is about 60,000 hours. If the tv is on for 8 hours a day, which is about average, that brings the life expectancy of a LCD tv to 20.5 years. If you leave the TV on all day every day, thats about 6.8 years.
answer: James time: 2010-10-26 13:07:00they last at an average of 60,000 viewing hours. which can average to 10 to 15 years. it also depends on the brand of tv. samsung is the best, followed by LG, Sony, and Panasonic.

answer: cantbelieveitsnotbutter34 time: 2010-10-25 12:06:57Last I knew, LCDs typically had the backlight burn out after around 7 years of usage at the rate seen in an average household. These bulbs can be replaced, but the cost to do so generally is about the same as a cost of a new TV.
By contrast, Plasma sets have a "half-life", usually around 5 years. This means that every 5 years of normal average use, the screen will be half as bright as it was before.
LCD TV's will last up to 20 years if kept in perfect but if not maybe 10-15 years
