How to transfer video from camcorder to DVD?
I have a hard drive camcorder. How do I burn a DVD of the video I've taped. I've heard you put it on the computer then burn it onto a DVD. Isn't there some kind of software you have to have for this to work?

Step 1 is to get the video from the camcorder to the computer. You did not tell us which camcorder (manufacturer or model number) or computer (hadware manufacturer and operating system). But generally speaking, you connect the hard disc drive camcorder to the computer with a USB cable.Step 2 is to decide if you want to archive the video or if you want to have the video that can be played back on a regular DVD player. If you want to archive the video, then just copy the clips to the DVD and burn the disc. This disc will not playback in a regular DVD player, but can be used by a computer. If you want the video to be playable in a regular DVD player, then you should prpbaly use a "DVD authoring application". Examples include WinDVD, DVD Maker and iDVD - among many others. This utility/application will take the video files and convert them to a file format the DVD player can use (VOB).Since you did not tell us what you want to do with the DVD or which computer or operating system, we have no way to make any specific recommendation.Another method is to get a "direct to DVD burner" and bypass the computer by connecting that "direct to DVD burner" to the camcorder.

answer: snowwillow20 time: 1970-01-04 04:00:07Yes, it's right that put the recorded videos on the computer then burn it onto a DVD with a right software, At first you should use a right cable to connect your camcorder and computer, and use your camcorder built-in software to transfer the recorded videos from camcorder to your computer hard drive, then with the right burning software you can burn the recorded videos from harddrive to dvd. If you just want to burn the recorded videos to DVD as backup, you can try RZ Free DVD Burner, it's free and easy to use, it can directly burn any files or folders to any dvd disc as data dvd, the burned data dvd can be opened on computer, but can't play on dvd player. But if you want to burn the recorded videos to dvd to play well on dvd player, you need to use a right software to convert and burn your recorded videos to standard video DVD, you can try RZ DVD Creator, it can convert any videos to standard vidoe dvd and burn to any dvd disc(DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc), the burned standard video dvd can be played well on DVD player. You can yahoo or google search RZ Free DVD Burner or RZ DVD Creator and download them, both easy to use, hope them can help you.
