yes, when you activate the phone it will ask you if you want a new number, want to transfer a number from another carrier, or to transfer another tracphone account to this new phone... all unused minutes in your account should transfer over to the new phone with out a problem... you will probably need the account password, or some other identifiable information from the old phone/account...

I think in order to do that, you would need to have that persons:name, address, and personal key #, and password #, from the older phone, cause it is possible to buy a new phone and transfer the phone # to the new phone but when they ask for the old phone numbers key # you need to have it handy.
