Im looking for a new camcorder?
Right now, i use a cannon camera. It records obviously, but not very well. It's good for a camera, but the audio sucks.I own a website and i go to concerts and do interviews and stuff, so you cant really hear much.Im looking for a new camera/camcorder.It just needs to have good quality, not TOO much, and good audio. Also, if a wireless mic can be compatible with it.And most importantly, i have a small camcorder now which does not go on my Mac.i edit on my Mac, so it needs to be compatible with imovie or final cut.thanks so much!

Few have manual audio control, though they are out there in the lower price range, the Canon HV40 for example. Microphone inputs are more common. In short, recording with the camera's on-board microphone will not produce good results - it has no idea whether to pick up your subject, or everything around it, so it'll pick up everything. As for a wireless mic, if a wired mic is compatible, you can find a wireless mic that's compatible. As for a Mac, are you sure your current one doesn't go on your Mac? Just about any camera can be used on a Mac - some file formats will require some rewrapping or conversion to go into iMovie or Final Cut Pro/Final Cut Express, but you should be able to use just about anything. I've worked on projects in which I've had to convert multiple camera formats, and all of them eventually were able to be converted/rewrapped (though some of it required me to purchase the program "ClipWrap," which works great for some specific formats). As for audio during concerts, it'll be difficult no matter what camera you have, unless you can tap a direct feed from the house audio mix into your camera or to a separate audio recorder (and then you can sync the audio recording with your video recording in your editing software). Definitely something to consider - if you do that, you'll have some pretty clean audio.
