Is Infocus x16 projector any good?
Is Infocus x16 projector any good? I have been offered an Infocus X16 projector at a good price, but I can't find any reviews for it online. I want it for public presentations and home theatre. Does anybody know if this is a good model?

It's ok, but not really up to date with the new standards.
For one, it has a native 4:3 full screen aspect ratio instead of a 16:9 widescreen ratio.
Also, the native resolution is only 800x600 which is ok for standard definition TV, but won't be able to display the enhanced definition of a 1920x1080 High Definition picture for example.
The other issue is that it does not have an HDMI or DVI input which means you are pretty much limited to composite or s-video which means the video would be limited to a standard definition 720x480 signal even though the projector's native resolution is higher than that.
You can however hook-up a computer to take full advantage of the 800x600 resolution.
Overall I would say the projector is best suited to power-point presentations and casual TV/movie watching and not so much for Home Theatre applications. However it will still make a decent family movie night projector if that's what you want to use it for.
