Please help? my psp isn't working anymore? it doesn't turn on?

i have a psp 3001. and my volume button was messing up so i popped off the button and put it back in and it solved my volume problem, but for some reason my psp would not turn on with the battery, so i plugged in the a/c because i thought the battery was dead.when i plugged the a/c power into my psp, all it would do was blink the orange charging light, then stay off. so i turned it on and it worked fine like if you were playing it with the power plugged in. so i decided to clean the contacts on the battery and use the a/c alone. when i was doing that, the green and orange light would blink orange, green, orange, green, orange, green, orange, green, back and forth, but then it crashed, and it wouldn't turn on with just the battery, or just the a/c, or the battery and the a/c. please give me some ideas of how to fix it, or where to get it fixed!
