I would suggest you buying Sony BRAVIA EX 400 Series 40-Inch LCD TV

Sony & LG are the two most reliable brands out there. I would go with the Sony.
answer: I Can and Will time: 2010-10-29 21:58:42Both are good quality brand but personally I would go with Samsung, good picture quality and Samsung LN40C630 is 120Hz

The 60Hz that you said I think it is Samsung LN40C530 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV. However, this one is still good tv to get.

neither. :O)
panasonic all the way
everyone i speak to that has one notices the difference between theirs and friends who have samsungs, philips, sony etc. and how crusty they look in comparison. i had a quick look round a store recently and they in my humble opinion [work in motion graphics/special effects] have the best picture by far. But then i'm not a tech head with a big swanky tv at home cos I have enough of them at work :O)
Samsung is really becoming a very good tv. Consumer Reports rates it high. Look-up in Consumer Reports the best 40" tv. By the way, 120Hz might be a better way to go. It's a little more, but I've seen them on sale for $800.
answer: John time: 2010-10-28 12:58:51go for the sony they are superb if picture quality is important you will truly be blown away with it especially on Blu ray dvds
answer: storm time: 2010-10-27 12:58:44When it comes to a brand I prefer Sony over any other. They are probably one of the best manufacturers in wide variety of electronic devices, not just TV's.
Looking strictly at specifications I go with Sony since it has better Contrast Ratio (If I had to pick between the two)
Good luck...
