Tivo/Cable service question?

I want to get a tivo service and i have Time Warner Cable and i was wondering does the cable company will know that i have tivo service without telling them?

Well not exactly. In order to setup TiVo you typically have to obtain a cable-card decoder from your cable company so it would be pretty obvious what you need the cable-card for. There is nothing wrong with using TiVo, it's not as if the cable company will charge you extra or something. In the U.S. cable companies are required by law to offer cable-cards that let you use your cable service with third-party DVRs/Set-top boxes.
