Updated my home phone service to Ooma, and experiencing a lot more spam calls such as 800 numbers and surveys?
Anyone else notice this?

I've had Ooma since February and have not noticed this. I get about one telemarketer a month- inevitably from my alma mater asking for a donation. I block them, but they come through under various phone numbers.I did port my old number and it is on the do not call registry, if that helps.
answer: blackpippi time: 1970-01-06 14:00:09"updated"??? i would not call using a proprietary VoIP system that uses a peer to peer network to access other peoples land lines to make outgoing calls an upgrade... it seems more of a security risk since it is using other peoples land lines to complete the call, they have access to your phone call, and can monitor and/or record your phone calls... you can put your ooma number onto the national do not call registry... http://donotcall.gov but remember, non-profits, surveys that are not selling anything, polititians, and business with which you currently or recently have had a consumer/business relationship with are exempt from the do not call registry -
