I don't like small digital compacts because I know of none that has aperture/shutter priority.If I had to choose one I'd consider the Canon S90. Mainly because its sensor is somewhat larger than most point and shoots so one can shoot with an higher ISO setting for dim light shots and still get decent photo. Has very good image quality. If dim light shots are of no concern, then I would buy the Canon SD1200 IS. Has very good image quality and on line runs about $149+shipping.

I have a small Pentax Optio S5z and have several great 11x14's and great 16x20 print from it. The camera fits in my shirt pocket. My model is long since discontinued but a short visit to their web site will show you several models. My advice get one with a 5x optical zoom. And always shoot at maximum pixels.
