What's a good digital camera?
I currently have the Kodak C613 ( http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-EasyShare-Digital-Camera-Optical/dp/B000NOSUB4/ref=sr_1_29?s=STORE&ie=UTF8&qid=1276562659&sr=1-29 ). It's my first camera, and it's all right, but it keeps freezing and sometimes randomly stops working even if the batteries are fully charged. Plus, most of my pictures come out blurry, so after two and a half years with this camera, I'm starting to look for a new one, preferably one that's inexpensive (under $150).My friend recently got the Sony Cybershot, which is nice, but she said it only takes minute-long videos. I don't always carry my video camera with me, so I sometimes take videos on my camera, and I don't want to be limited to one minute videos. I was thinking of the Nikon Coolpix S60 because it looks like it's a good camera, and the touch screen feature seems amazing. Is that a good camera? Any other suggestions are welcome!

wrong. wrong. wrong.i am a photographer, and i know from experience canon is without a doubt the BEST. they're reasonably priced, and quality like no other camera ive owned. NIKON IS SH*T. dont be fooled by the touch screen, ive never had a good experience with those cameras. especially the s60.-the touch screen is AWFUL. you half to have tiny tiny fingers to use it, and you always need 2 hands to take pictures.-its hard to keep clean-ALL THE PICTURES ARE BLURRY-battery life sucksTHIS is the camera you need:http://shop.usa.canon.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10051_10051_212878_-1(30 bucks over 150 but still totally worth it. this is my old camera, which i love. my current camera is 500 dollars though which isnt in your price range lol) also you can make videos longer than 1 minute!

answer: Andrew time: 1970-01-06 15:00:06I have been in professional photography for many years but feel poorly qualified to answer your questio sinec there are so many good cameras out there by several well-respected companies. My personal list does not include Kodak, but at least two people obviously get good service from their Kodaks. So spend about £200+ and you should get good service. Don't expect the video side to be as practical as a proper camcorder - many digicams can't zoom during filming. For casaual snaps I have a Sony Cybershot, so do two of my children, my other daughter has a Nikon. We all enjoy them.
answer: John P time: 1970-01-05 19:00:09I suggest a camera from the Panasonic Lumix line. Buy it from AMAZON.COM.For example, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20:http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-FH20…You can get it from Amazon, shipped for free and no tax in most states. Make sure the item says “Ships from and sold by Amazon.com.”This camera has 14.1 Megapixels, 8x Optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilization, 2.7 LCD screen, rechargeable lithium-ion battery and takes High-Definition video at 30 fps and 1,280 x 720 pixels. The rechargeable battery, Optical Stabilization and High-Definition movies make it a fantastic value.I have a Panasonic Lumix with similar specs. Mine has 12x zoom and cost me more (last year), but the rest of the basic specs are pretty much the same. I could not be happier.

answer: Mary time: 1970-01-03 16:00:15Nikon, Cannon and Sony all make decent digital cameras. Unfortunately I am not an expert. I would suggest going to your local Best Buy, or electronic/ camera store and ask advice on different cameras. You can often try them out in the store to see what you like best. Then you can shop for the best prices online.
