wrong. wrong. wrong.i am a photographer, and i know from experience canon is without a doubt the BEST. they're reasonably priced, and quality like no other camera ive owned. I have been in professional photography for many years but feel poorly qualified to answer your questio sinec there are so many good cameras out there by several well-respected companies. My personal list does not include Kodak, but at least two people obviously get good service from their Kodaks. So spend about £200+ and you should get good service. Don't expect the video side to be as practical as a proper camcorder - many digicams can't zoom during filming. For casaual snaps I have a Sony Cybershot, so do two of my children, my other daughter has a Nikon. We all enjoy them.

get the kodak Easy Share Z14851S its really easy to use, it has all the settings your looking for, plus moreee, and i love it!!!i don't think its too expensive...CHECK IT OUTT!!

Nikon, Cannon and Sony all make decent digital cameras. Unfortunately I am not an expert. I would suggest going to your local Best Buy, or electronic/ camera store and ask advice on different cameras. You can often try them out in the store to see what you like best.Then you can shop for the best prices online.

This depense, though i generally perfer cannon cameras for less artistic recreational perpouses, Nikon d40 is my personal favorite though for artistic but not redicuously over the top.

i have used kodak Easy Share Z14851S... and it was greathowever...i know people on www.flickr.com use them a lot and if you find a picture with quality you like, sign in with you yahoo account and ask what they use and what they would suggest to you... you may find it really helpful
