Which is better the Playstation 2 or 3?

My brother and I ( 8 and 13) want to get a playstation. Which is better? What is the difference between them? any personal expieriences?

The PS2 has more games, the PS3 has better hardware and more new games are being made for it. Take your pick.

The obvious answer is the Playstation 3.However, if you don't want to spend too much money, you should get the 2. Some of the best games ever made came out for the PS2 (Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts etc)

Ps3 has better better graphics and use Blu-Ray discs. So it is "better"But! The Playstaion 2 was a great console for its time and is very cheap to buy right now. It also has thousands of games, & plenty of great games! And there all about 1/5th the price of PS3 games. So if you want the latest technology get PS3, if you want something you can run into the ground and have a hell of fun doing so - and wont cost you an arm and a leg - get the PS2

Playstation 3 is betterThe PS2 is a very old system that hardly gets any new titles. Getting a PS2 is like getting a IPOD over a IPOD Touch. The ps3 is the current console from Sony and it has graphics as good as the Xbox360. It also has a Bluray player.You should get a PS3.

playstation 3 - definitely. My boyfriend has it and the graphics are amaaaaazing! also, it does not compare to playstation 2 in the sense that you can do several more things with Play.3 than with 2 :) go for it

Playstation 3 The game are way better, they don't make games for the PS2 anymore, and the PS3 can play blu-ray, go online and many other things. I wish I had a PS3.
