Why is the DRC8320N RCA dvd/vcr combo freeze while recording a program using the timer?
Why is the DRC8320N RCA dvd/vcr combo freeze while recording a program using the timer? I was programming the dvd/vcr combo to certain channel and press the timer record button. The next day (day of the actual recording), somehow the recorder freeze. The display on the device said HELLO and that it. It won't record or response the buttons on the remote. I even change batteries and I still cannot get it going. I can't even turn it off. I tried unplugging it and plug back in but still keeps on displaying the word HELLO. Please help. Gary

I suspect the unit is faulty Gary. Here's why, Setting he timer is a relatively simple process. It's possible you doing it wrong but it;s more likely you not. The biggest clue is that the unit locks up or freezes as you say. By all common sense a unit should never do that. I do wonder though, how do you get the unit to respond to commands again once it freezes?
I'd contact the seller or manufacture. Any chance it's under warranty? If so I'd sure pursue that.
